Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using John's Essentials ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

John's Essentials provides a web-based platform offering file processing tools (PDF, photo, media, document), AI agent automation, and developer API access. Features available to you depend on your subscription tier.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at security@johnsessentials.com.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without notice or refund.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Process, generate, or distribute illegal content of any kind
• Violate intellectual property rights of third parties
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or mirror the platform without written permission
• Use the AI Agent to generate spam, phishing content, or deceptive material
• Upload malware, exploits, or malicious files
• Conduct automated large-scale scraping or abuse of the API beyond your rate limits

Violations may result in immediate account termination and legal action where applicable.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

Paid plans (Starter, Business) are billed via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges on your payment method. All prices are in USD and exclusive of any applicable taxes you may owe in your jurisdiction.

Plan features and prices may change with 30 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

6. Refund Policy

Subscriptions are non-refundable after the billing period has started, except where required by law. We offer a full refund within 24 hours of your first subscription payment if you contact us at billing@johnsessentials.com and have not processed more than 10 files.

Free tier users are not eligible for refunds as no payment is taken.

7. File Processing and AI Output

You are solely responsible for the files you upload and the use of AI-generated output. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific use case. Always verify AI-generated content before relying on it for professional, legal, financial, or medical decisions.

We process your files solely to deliver the service you request. We do not claim ownership of your files or outputs.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, John's Essentials shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer in the EU/EEA where mandatory local consumer protection laws apply.

11. Changes to These Terms

We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
